The active ingredient of PrGV.Bt biological pesticide is PrGV (pieris rapae granulosis viru) and Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis). PrGV is a low-toxic, obligate insecticidal thorn of microbial origin. It is a non-pollution biological pesticide, mainly for gastric toxicity. The pests infect the virus by feeding, and then the virus propagates in the pest body, infecting the whole body of the pest and finally causing death. Diseases and feces from dead insects can then spread the virus to other pests, allowing the virus to spread through the pest population and control the infestation without environmental pollution.
Working Mechanism
After insects ingest the pesticide, Bacillus thuringiensis first acts on insect midgut cells, reducing the insect's immune system and making it more susceptible to PrGV infection.
